All panels are 12mm marine-grade PVC. The first prototypes were made with 1/2" marine StarBoard® but had too much flex, were heavy and 2X the cost. ll metal parts are stainless steel and fabric is vinyl coated polyester. Straps are nylon.

There are THREE configurations for CoolBoat: Unmodified base for hatches that are support without lift struts or will be customized by the buyer. • CoolBoat PVC is easily cut, drilled or modified with standard hand tools Single 1" slot (port or starboard) to accomodate a single lift (on an 18-inch center). Dual 1" slots to accomodate hatch lifts on 18-inch center.

Every effort has been made to make CoolBoat resist rain intrustion. All materials are water and corrosion resistant Panels rest in slots to seal them and hinges are covered with flexible waterproof vinyl. The base slots act as channels to drain rain and condensation off the base Strong thunderstorms are capable of forcing water "uphill" and past panel slots. It would be prudent to cover all but the AC rear vents with a small tarp, or similar, if heavy wind and/or rain is expected.
